The Fun Never Stops!!....

Some new vintage items that I have acquired recently...

Vintage still of Joe E Brown and Patricia Ellis from "Bright Lights"- 1935

Vintage 5" x 7" publicity photo of Patricia Ellis

Page from a vintage 1943 autograph album signed by Warner Bros workhorse character actor, Guy Kibbee.

For those that dont recognize the name you might recognize the face! Kibbee appeared in dozens of classics at WB including "42nd Street", "Footlight Parade", "Gold Diggers of 1933", "The World Changes" and so on and so on...he also appeared in films at other studios like "Mr Smith Goes to Washington", "Our Town" and "Three Godfathers"

I saved the best for last, this just came today...beautiful vintage double weight photo of Olivia DeHavilland signed AND inscribed by her to the great director Mervyn LeRoy! I'll need to find a very special frame to put this one in!

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

Joe E Brown is having a Baby Party and you're ALL invited WHOOOOPEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

A vintage 8 x 10 still from "Broadminded" 1931, directed by Mervyn LeRoy and starring Joe E., Thelma Todd and... BELA LUGOSI!!! This wacky film opens with an adult "baby party"...it is slightly disturbing until Joe shows up, then it becomes HELLA-disturbing! but its one of Joe's best WB comedies and Lugosi is a riot as the "villain"!

Hoping to get another installment of my Paul Muni tribute ready by the weekend!

Happy B-day James Cagney!

I'm right now VERY busy getting some artwork ready for the local show I do here every year but today woulda been Cagney's 110th b-day so I MUST post a few pics to celebrate!

I missed the Cagney fest on TCM this afternoon (had to work, god I hate that!) but I DID manage to see a short film he made at MGM in 1943 that I had never seen before! It was called "You, John Jones" , his co-stars were Ann Sothern and little Margaret O'Brien and it was directed by Mervyn LeRoy! Very cool to see some new Cagney on his b-day!!!

So now the only Cagney films I havent seen are: "The Millionaire (1931) , "Great Guy" (1936) , "Johhny Come Lately" (1943) , "The Seven Little Foys" (1955) , "Shake Hands with the Devil (1959) , "The Gallant Hours (1960) , "Ragtime" (1981) and the made for TV film "Terrible Joe Moran" (1984)

So often playing the tough guy but Jimmy could dance and sing and was a gifted comedian as well. And few actors could rattle off dialogue as fast as he could!

"Made it MA!...Top of the World!"
Thank You James!
